There’s a story behind every one of my artworks, and this elephant print is a celebration of the toughest story in my life so far. A tough time that served to be my most tremendous turning point.

Please let me tell you the story…

My love of elephants began about 10 years ago. I was on the cusp of becoming a single mum and I was terrified. I was desperately looking for a sign, something to tell me that my boys and I were going to be okay.

When suddenly, little elephants began to show up everywhere.

I would turn on the TV and they’d be there. Images of them would jump out from billboards, and stuffed elephants would literally fall from shelves in shops. They became my sign that I was on the right track and I was being looked after.

These big, gentle giants of the animal world were strong, but they didn’t need to scream and carry on about it. It was exactly the approach I needed to foster to get through those tough times. I needed to be steely and strong, despite the opinions of others. My energy needed to go into my herd, and couldn’t be squirrelled away worrying about what the world thought of me.

Over the years I began to collect elephants and my collection grew. Then one day I met a man, and discovered he too had an elephant collection.

That man became my husband, and our elephant herds combined. Today they grace the shelves of the home we have created together.

This bold and eye-catching piece of art is a celebration of freedom and strength. She is intended to bring a smile to your face, and serve as a reminder to continually tap into your inner elephant... that wild and free creature that lies inside every woman, begging to be released.

This artwork is also available in a bright retro red.
